Barcelona Faces Four-Match Challenge in 12 Days as Flick Addresses Limited Squad
Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has addressed the upcoming challenges facing his team, citing fixture congestion and limited squad options. Flick made these remarks during the press conference preceding their La Liga clash against Athletic Bilbao.
Flick confirmed that the team faces an intense schedule, with four matches scheduled over 12 days. This period presents a significant challenge as only 14 first-team players are currently available, necessitating precise management of the players' physical exertion by the technical staff.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Flick stated: "For me, this is something we have to manage. It's normal with so many games. Ultimately, we also have high-level players from La Masia, and we have good experience in giving academy players playing time. We have to manage playing time. Tomorrow, new players might get minutes."
Barcelona will visit Athletic Bilbao today, Saturday, at 20:00 GMT. The match, part of La Liga's 27th round, will be held at San Mamés Stadium.
