Sofyan Amrabat Arrives in Seville Tonight to Begin Second Phase of Recovery
Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat is set to arrive in Seville tonight to continue his recovery from an ankle injury sustained last November. The player is scheduled to begin the second phase of his rehabilitation program tomorrow at the Luis del Sol training ground. This phase will focus on integrating physical training in the gym with individual exercises on the pitch, separately from the main squad.
Amrabat underwent arthroscopic surgery in late January after completing the first phase of his treatment in the Netherlands. This followed an injury he picked up during a Europa League match against FC Utrecht. The decision for surgical intervention was made in full coordination between the medical staff of the Moroccan national team, Real Betis, and Turkish club Fenerbahçe, which holds the player's economic rights. Notably, the Moroccan star participated in some Africa Cup of Nations matches despite experiencing pain in the injured area.
In a related context, Amrabat has not featured for Real Betis since his injury last November. This incident also saw his teammate Isco Alarcón suffer an ankle injury, for which he underwent surgery last December. While the Spanish club continues to assess the physical condition of its players daily, the current phase of Amrabat's rehabilitation aims to gradually restore his physical readiness before he returns to group training, in line with the established medical plans.
