Lopetegui (Qatar Coach): "We Received a Warning Message... They Tell Us to Stay Home and Be Ready for Missiles"
Qatar national team coach Julen Lopetegui confirmed that he is experiencing a worrying situation filled with caution and uncertainty, due to Doha – where he is currently located – and several Gulf capitals being subjected to Iranian shelling amidst severe tension in the Middle East region.
Lopetegui told Spanish television: "The message we are receiving is a warning message; they tell us: 'Stay in your homes and be ready for missiles approaching from distant areas.'"
He concluded by saying: "We are staying in our homes with the utmost safety. I want to reassure my family and friends that we are all fine and receiving good care. We hope to return to our normal lives as soon as possible."
It is worth noting that the Qatar Football Association officially announced the postponement of all tournaments, competitions, and matches, effective from this Sunday, due to the current regional situation.
