Mikkel Damsgaard opened the scoring for the visitors with a header in the ninth minute. Igor Thiago then doubled their lead in the 25th minute, and Kevin Schade added Brentford's third goal in the 34th minute. However, the home side pulled one back just before halftime through an own goal by Michael Olapodi Kayode in the third minute of added time. Burnley's comeback began early in the second half when Jayden Anthony scored their second goal in the 47th minute, before Zian Flemming leveled the score with a header in the 60th minute.
The match also saw a goal by Burnley's Zian Flemming disallowed in the 79th minute for offside.
As the game appeared headed for a draw, Mikkel Damsgaard secured the win for Brentford by scoring the decisive goal in the third minute of stoppage time. The final moments also saw a goal by Ashley Barnes disallowed in the eighth minute of added time due to a foul. With this victory, Brentford moved to 43 points, placing them seventh in the league, while Burnley remained on 19 points in 19th position.
