Liam Rosenior Confident in Chelsea's Readiness for Arsenal and Aston Villa Clashes
Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has expressed confidence in his team's ability to overcome upcoming challenges in the Premier League, as the club prepares to face league leaders Arsenal and third-placed Aston Villa away from home. The London side, currently sitting in fifth position, is looking to boost its hopes of securing a UEFA Champions League qualification spot, especially given their unbeaten run in the domestic competition since Rosenior took over managerial duties last month.
Rosenior confirmed the return of duo Romeo Lavia and Dario Isougo to full training after recovering from injury, while winger Estevao will be sidelined for a longer period due to a hamstring injury. The manager expressed his satisfaction with the team's trajectory, stating: "I am very happy with this group and the start we've made. We've won eight out of 12 games, and it should have been 10, which provides a good foundation to build upon."
The Chelsea manager highlighted the desire to change previous results against Arsenal after losing twice in the League Cup semi-finals. Rosenior said: "In terms of trying to win those games, there was a clear idea that the players executed very well, but we didn't get the result we wanted, and we aim to change that." He also stressed the importance of treating each match individually due to the varying tactical difficulties the Premier League presents weekly, explaining that he doesn't classify one game as harder than another.
Chelsea enters Sunday's clash with the possibility of a negative record not seen since the 2003-2004 season, as Arsenal could become the first team to defeat them three times in a single season if they secure a victory. Rosenior aims to break this streak and maintain the unbeaten record that has helped the club climb from eighth to fifth in the league table since his arrival.
