French Federation Doubles World Cup Qualification Bonus for Players at Mbappé's Request
The French Football Federation (FFF) has announced a doubled bonus for the French national team players, head coach Didier Deschamps, and his main assistants following their qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Each player received approximately €42,000, a decision made in recognition of the team's significant economic contribution to the federation.
Reports indicate that the request for this doubled bonus originated from team captain Kylian Mbappé, and French Football Federation President Philippe Diallo approved it. Diallo stated, “I consider the French national team to be the economic lung of the federation. At that moment, after this qualification, it was an opportunity to acknowledge their contribution. In this sense, this double bonus was awarded.”
This bonus is double the usual amount each player receives, which is typically around €21,000 after every victory. The French team secured their qualification for the 2026 World Cup after a 4-0 victory over Ukraine on November 13.
