Crystal Palace Manager Oliver Glasner Responds to Fans, Casts Doubt on Future
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner addressed angry fan reactions and raised doubts about his future at the club following Thursday's 1-1 draw against Zrinjski Mostar. This came after supporters chanted for his dismissal during the match.
In response, Glasner told the fans to “Stay humble. Never forget where you came from.” He added, “Let’s see. What the future holds, we never know,” in a clear reference to uncertainty regarding his continued tenure.
Despite initially casting doubt on the possibility of completing his contract, which expires at the end of the current season, Glasner later affirmed his desire to see out the remaining term. However, he stated that he feels “not good enough to compensate for the players we sold. I am not good enough to integrate new players in a way that allows us to play in the same style we used to,” indicating the difficulties he has faced.
It is worth noting that Crystal Palace sold their captain Marc Guéhi in January and star player Eberechi Eze last summer, which impacted the team's lineup. In contrast, Glasner had led the club last season to win its first major title, the FA Cup, in addition to winning the Community Shield.
