FIFA Allocates $75 Million for Gaza Stadium Reconstruction
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the Peace Council have signed an agreement to reconstruct the Gaza Strip through football, following widespread destruction in the region.
US President Donald Trump announced that FIFA intends to allocate a $75 million fund to support the rebuilding of football facilities in Gaza that were destroyed during the conflict.
The plan includes a series of projects aimed at establishing a comprehensive football system in Gaza. Key initiatives include the construction of 50 mini-pitches at a cost of $2.5 million, five full-sized pitches costing $5 million, the establishment of a FIFA academy at a cost of $15 million, and the building of a national stadium with a capacity of 20,000 to 25,000 seats, costing $50 million.
FIFA indicated that the first phase of the project will focus on building the mini-pitches, with their completion expected within three to six months. The construction of the national stadium is anticipated to take between 18 and 36 months.
