Real Madrid Goalkeeper Courtois Joins French Club Le Mans Ownership
French club Le Mans announced that Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has joined the club as a minority shareholder through his investment company, NxtPlay Capital. This development comes as the Brazilian group "Outfield," which invested last summer, has become the majority shareholder in the club.
The club stated that Courtois will bring high-level expertise to the project, both in sports and media. Le Mans said in a statement: “Thibaut Courtois brings extremely high-level expertise, both on the sporting and media fronts.”
In a related context, the project had previously attracted other athletes, including Felipe Massa, Kevin Magnussen, and Novak Djokovic. Thierry Gomez, on the other hand, will remain a shareholder and president of Le Mans.
The construction of a training center is one of the fundamental pillars of the new ownership project, aiming for an opening in July 2026.
