Moein Chaabani: 'Qualification Wasn't Easy, We Achieved Our Season-Long Goal'
Moein Chaabani, head coach of Nahdet Berkane, affirmed that the 3-0 victory over Rivers United in the sixth round of the CAF Champions League group stage was a crucial step towards achieving the team's objective set since the beginning of the season.
Speaking at the post-match press conference, he stated: "Praise be to God, we have achieved the goal we set since the beginning of the season, which was to first qualify from the group stage and then reach the quarter-finals. Naturally, qualification was not easy if we look at the path we have taken."
He added: "The journey we've had was not simple, especially with strong competition in our group and other groups. Before the final matchday, nothing was decided, and several clubs were contenders until the last moments, which underscores the difficulty of the competition."
Chaabani continued: "This victory is very important for us because it restored confidence to the players and put the team back on the path of positive results, which always reflects positively on the atmosphere within the squad."
He concluded: "I thank the players for their great effort, and we hope that the team continues its development as matches progress in this competition, and that we will be ready for the upcoming challenges in the CAF Champions League."
Nahdet Berkane finished second in Group A with 10 points, while Rivers United exited the competition after securing only one point.
