Berkane Player Camara's Transfer to Al-Ahly Tripoli Falters Despite Release Clause Activation
Al-Ahly Tripoli issued a clarification regarding the signing of Senegalese player Lamine Camara, Renaissance Berkane's midfielder, following the controversy surrounding his unofficial registration with the team during the recent winter transfer window.
The Libyan club confirmed that the procedures for signing the player were carried out in accordance with applicable legal standards, after reaching a final agreement with Camara and his lawyer to activate the $2.8 million release clause in his contract. The completion of the transfer was expected upon the issuance of the player's international transfer certificate and the submission of the required documents within the specified registration period.
The same source explained that the club's management made significant efforts to finalize all procedures on time. However, time constraints and delays in completing some administrative steps related to the final agreement prevented the player's official registration before the close of the winter transfer window in Libya, leading to the deal's collapse despite being signed in the final moments.
Al-Ahly Tripoli extended its thanks to player Lamine Camara and his lawyer, praising their cooperation and their choice of the Libyan team's offer among several others. The club also affirmed its commitment to continuing its sporting project aimed at strengthening the team's ranks with prominent names in upcoming transfer windows, expressing confidence in the choices made by the technical staff during the recent transfer market.
