Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi, a Girona player, is close to returning to the pitch following an injury sustained while representing the Moroccan national team in the Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Spanish newspaper "AS", this week will be crucial in determining whether Ounahi is ready to feature against Barcelona. It is unlikely he will start the match after a long absence, but he could be included in the squad list.

The club's medical staff issued a statement on January 28, confirming the player's injury to his left soleus muscle. The statement indicated that his recovery progress would determine his return to training, without specifying an exact duration for his absence.

Given his period of inactivity, next Monday's match against Barcelona has been considered the earliest potential opportunity for his return.
