The first half ended in a goalless draw, but Real Madrid managed to 'snatch' all three points in the second half. The decisive moment came in the 65th minute when left-back Alvaro Carreras broke the hosts' resistance and scored the opening goal.
While Valencia was searching for an equalizer, striker Kylian Mbappe appeared, scoring the decisive goal in the 90+1st minute, following a crucial pass from Moroccan Brahim Diaz, who had come on as a substitute in the 76th minute.
With this victory, Real Madrid raised their points tally to 57, maintaining pressure on league leaders Barcelona (58 points). Conversely, Valencia's points tally remained at 23, placing them 17th and keeping the team in the danger zone, just one point away from the relegation spots.
