Albacete Fan Faces €5,000 Fine, Stadium Ban After Throwing Banana at Vinicius
The Spanish Anti-Violence Committee in Sport has proposed a €5,000 fine for an Albacete Balompié fan who threw a banana at Real Madrid's Brazilian player Vinicius Junior during a Copa del Rey match between the two teams.
The committee stated that this act constitutes a violation of sports conduct regulations and poses a threat to the safety of players and fans in stadiums. In addition to the monetary fine, the fan may also face a stadium ban for a specified period, in accordance with the procedures for combating violence in Spanish sport.
These measures are part of a strict campaign against any acts of violence towards players inside stadiums, following a series of similar incidents that have sparked widespread controversy in Spanish and international media.
For its part, Real Madrid expressed its appreciation for the efforts made by sports authorities to ensure a safe environment for football, emphasizing that any violent behavior towards players will not be tolerated.
