Fenerbahçe Officially Announces El-Nesyri's Al-Ittihad Transfer Collapse
Fenerbahçe announced on Tuesday the collapse of Moroccan Youssef En-Nesyri's transfer to Saudi club Al-Ittihad. The deal, which would have seen French midfielder N'Golo Kante join the Turkish club, failed due to administrative errors on the part of Al-Ittihad, despite Fenerbahçe having completed all necessary procedures.
In an official statement, Fenerbahçe affirmed that the transfer process was executed according to a well-considered plan, initiated at the request of the technical staff. Negotiations with the players were successfully concluded, all necessary medical examinations were performed, and official approvals were secured. Furthermore, the transfer registration documents were uploaded completely and accurately into the International Transfer Matching System (TMS) within the stipulated timeframe.
However, the statement clarified that Al-Ittihad's input of incorrect information into the system obstructed the completion of the procedures within the legal deadline. This compelled Fenerbahçe to request an extension and contact FIFA for a resolution. Despite these efforts, Al-Ittihad failed to finalize the process, offering no justification, ultimately leading to the collapse of the deal.
Consequently, based on Fenerbahçe's statement, Youssef En-Nesyri will continue his tenure with the Turkish club, confirming the failure of his proposed move to Al-Ittihad.
