FAR Ultras Warn of 'Abyss' and 'Catastrophic Decisions'

30 January 2026at15:40

The "Ultras Askary" and "Black Army" groups issued a strongly worded joint statement, expressing their great concern over the situation of FAR (Royal Moroccan Army) and warning of the "dangerous decline" the team has been experiencing since summer 2023, immediately after winning their last professional league title.

The statement affirmed that the club has witnessed a worrying decline in results and performance, instead of investing the sporting success and significant financial revenues from selling several players. The two groups considered that the decisions of President Hermou and his deputy, El Ayyoubi, "were catastrophic sporting decisions that destroyed everything that had been built." This comes at a time when Moroccan football is undergoing profound transformations with the entry of investors and the adoption of a truly professional structure, which, according to the statement, "cannot be compared to the 'barracks-like' structure."

The statement highlighted what it described as a "bribery scandal proven by evidence" between a player and a broker linked to the vice-president. It noted that this issue was followed by the disappearance of the delegated president from public view, before the appointment of a French sporting director "who knows nothing about the league," alongside the installation of Mustahsan as head of the football branch, a move that fans considered an attempt to absorb public anger.

The "Curva Fatiha" added that the summer transfer window revealed that "nothing has changed, and the corrupt situation remains as it was." The sporting director only brought in one player before leaving his position before the winter transfer window, having "become convinced that he was merely a puppet and a front for a corrupt system seeking to enrich itself at the expense of the team's interests."

In a firm tone, the two groups announced their rejection of any coach appointed through the aforementioned broker, stating: "We reject any coach brought by the person named Azim, because any coach who comes through a broker or agent will only seek to serve their interests." The statement emphasized that sporting and technical decisions "must be in the hands of the sporting director, not the delegated president and his lackey."

On a sporting level, the "Curva Fatiha" expressed confidence in the players and their ability to qualify and win the next two matches in the CAF Champions League, due to the "clear technical difference in capabilities." They also expressed their categorical rejection of scheduling matches at the athletics stadium, questioning: "Have other stadiums become owned by foreign national teams, or is this another chapter in the contempt for the Moroccan citizen and the veneration of foreigners?"

Why are FAR Ultras concerned about the club's current direction?

FAR Ultras warn of a "dangerous decline" since summer 2023, blaming President Hermou and his deputy for "catastrophic decisions" and a "corrupt system." Their statement highlights a bribery scandal and questionable appointments.

How do FAR Ultras view the club's current leadership and decision-making process?

The Ultras view the leadership of President Hermou and his deputy as making "catastrophic sporting decisions," leading to a "dangerous decline." They demand sporting and technical decisions be solely with the sporting director, rejecting broker influence.
