
PSV Eindhoven Suffers 3-0 Defeat to Newcastle in Champions League with Salah-Eddine Starting
Dutch side PSV Eindhoven suffered a 3-0 defeat against English club Newcastle United in their match on Wednesday evening, as part of Matchday 7 of the Champions League group stage.
Moroccan player Anass Salah-Eddine started the match, just days after losing the Africa Cup of Nations final to Senegal. He was substituted in the 45th minute of the first half, while his compatriot Souhaib Driouech came on as a substitute in the 63rd minute.
Newcastle's goals were scored by Yoane Wissa, Anthony Gordon, and Harvey Barnes in the 8th, 30th, and 65th minutes, respectively.
With this result, the English team occupies seventh place with 13 points, qualifying for the Champions League Round of 16. Meanwhile, PSV Eindhoven is in 22nd place with 8 points, qualifying for the playoff round.
