Regragui: "Morocco Will Return Stronger... Today We Didn't Present a Beautiful Image of African Football"

Morocco's national coach Walid Regragui expressed his deep disappointment following the national team's Africa Cup of Nations final loss to Senegal by a single goal, while simultaneously asserting that the "Atlas Lions" will return stronger in future competitions.

Regragui stated that the frustration was compounded by the Moroccan fans. He said after the match: "We are very disappointed for all the Moroccan public. When you get a penalty in the last minute, you see victory very close, and in the end, football punishes you. It's unfortunate."

He added: "The players will come back stronger. We congratulate Senegal, although the image we presented today of African football was disappointing, because of everything that happened immediately after the penalty announcement. The situation has been unhealthy since the beginning of the competition, and this is unfortunate. We will congratulate them and thank them for their great performance. We will continue to work. Morocco will return stronger."
