Hossam Hassan: "We Felt Psychologically Comfortable in Agadir, Although We Wished for Full Moroccan Support"
Egypt national team coach Hossam Hassan expressed his great relief following the thrilling 3-2 victory over Ivory Coast, which secured their spot in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals. The match was characterized by excitement and fierce competition until its final minutes.
During the post-match press conference, Hossam Hassan stated, "I congratulate Morocco on reaching the semi-finals, and I thank those responsible for the excellent hospitality in Agadir. We felt very psychologically comfortable being here."
He added, "The fans in Agadir supported us in some matches, making us feel as if we were playing at Cairo Stadium."
The Egyptian coach continued, "The African tournament has been successful in terms of organization on Moroccan soil, as well as the accommodation provided. We had hoped for more support from the Moroccan fans, but we did not receive their full backing."
He further stated, "I thank the city of Agadir. Wherever we are in Morocco, we will be comfortable and ready because we will have the same surrounding conditions. Whether here in Agadir or in Tangier, we are prepared."
Egypt will face Senegal in the semi-finals next Wednesday, starting at 6:00 PM, at the Grand Stadium in Tangier.
