
Egypt Qualifies for Africa Cup Semifinals After 3-2 Victory Over Ivory Coast
The Egyptian national team has qualified for the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Ivory Coast 3-2 in their quarter-final match, held at the Grand Stade d'Agadir.
Omar Marmoush opened the scoring early for the Pharaohs in the third minute, giving Egypt the lead. Ramy Rabia then doubled the advantage with a header in the 32nd minute, netting the second goal.
Ivory Coast responded by reducing the deficit in the 40th minute through an own goal by Ahmed Fatouh, concluding the first half with Egypt leading 2-1.
In the second half, the Egyptian team started strongly to extend their lead, which Mohamed Salah achieved by scoring the third goal in the 52nd minute following an assist from Emam Ashour.
The Ivorian team once again narrowed the scoreline through Ghislain Doué in the 73rd minute. However, the remaining minutes of the match saw no further changes, securing the Pharaohs' qualification for the semi-finals.
Egypt will face Senegal next Wednesday at 6:00 PM (GMT+1) in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final.
