Regragui: "If We Face Algeria, It Will Be a Real Derby and a Beautiful Match Between Two Brotherly Nations"
Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan national team, spoke about the possibility of facing Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals, indicating that the match between the two sides would be a "true derby."
When asked about the team he would prefer to face in the semi-finals, Regragui stated: "At this level of competition, we have no preferences. We are talking about two great footballing nations, and two teams with different styles. We will adapt to whoever qualifies."
Regarding the potential encounter with Algeria, he continued: "Now, if Algeria is the opponent, it will be a true derby. I think it will be a historic encounter in the semi-final, and it will also be a beautiful thing for football between two brotherly peoples, so if they are the opponent, we will be very happy because it will be a great celebration."
He added concerning a potential match against Nigeria: "As for Nigeria, we will face another style. We don't wish for anyone, the best team will pass, and we must face the best if we want to go as far as possible."
The Moroccan national team is set to face the winner of the Nigeria vs. Algeria match in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final next Wednesday (21:00 GMT+1) at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
