Regragui: 'Ighaman Trained Normally This Week, My Goal Is to Rely on Him for Rest of Tournament'
Morocco national team coach Walid Regragui confirmed that player Hamza Ighaman is developing well and is ready to participate in upcoming matches, emphasizing that the final decision depends on match circumstances.
Speaking at the press conference before the match against Tanzania, Regragui stated: "Hamza Ighaman's situation is somewhat similar to Achraf's; it's not a challenge or a difficulty. We knew he wasn't fully ready. We exchanged a lot of information with the medical staff of Lille and the Moroccan national team, and now he has trained normally this week, and he is recovering well."
He added: "Now, is he 100% ready to start a match? Can he play 20 minutes or just two minutes? We will see. In any case, as I said, the luck we have today is that we possess many attackers." Regragui continued: "We have a striker with a lot of confidence like Ayoub, and the possibility of relying on Hamza for the rest of the tournament was also my goal. There will be a different style, so can he start tomorrow? Can he come on as a substitute? We will see; this depends on the match and many other things."
Regragui further noted: "In any case, he is developing well, and we are on schedule. We knew he could participate in the second part of the competition, so for me, we are succeeding in achieving our goal, both for Achraf and Hamza."
Regragui concluded his remarks by emphasizing the importance of the medical staff: "I am happy, and I would also like to thank our team's medical staff, because the national team is not just the coach or the players; there are people working around the team, and the medical staff are part of them. They worked day and night to ensure Hamza was ready on time."
