Gasama (Mali Player): "We Will Try to Cause Morocco Some Trouble, and with the Moroccan Fans, the Atmosphere Will Be Exciting"
Nathan Gasama, a player for the Mali national team, emphasized the necessity of winning the Africa Cup of Nations title. He indicated that his teammates would attempt to disrupt Morocco's plans in their upcoming match this Friday (21:00 GMT +1), as part of the second round of the group stage.
“Our goal is to win the Africa Cup of Nations, lift the trophy, and bring it back to Bamako. We need this title. It's unnatural that Mali doesn't have an Africa Cup,” Gasama stated in press remarks.
Regarding the confrontation with Morocco, he clarified: “We know that anything can happen during the match. We also have our attacking capabilities, so we will try to cause them trouble.”
On the return of Mali's captain, Gasama added: “In an important match like this, he will offer all his experience and quality. We know he is a player capable of making a difference.”
The player also commented on the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat: “It's a very large and beautiful stadium, and with the Moroccan fans, the atmosphere will be very exciting, and I am excited to play this match.”
