Al-Salmi: "Crown Prince Confirmed King Will Grant Me Jordanian Citizenship"

Jamal Al-Salmi, coach of the Jordanian national team, has revealed that he has obtained Jordanian citizenship. This announcement comes after he led the team to a runner-up finish in the Arab Cup "Qatar 2025".

Speaking at the press conference following the match against Morocco, Al-Salmi stated: "Today was a great honor for me, as His Royal Highness the Crown Prince informed me that His Majesty the King, his father, directly requested that I be granted Jordanian citizenship." He expressed profound gratitude for the significant appreciation shown by Jordanian leaders.

The "Al-Nashama" coach further added: "After we qualified for the World Cup, Prince Ali and the President of the Federation spoke with me. They asked me to stay in Jordan and remain in charge of the 'Al-Nashama' national team."

Al-Salmi recounted his response: "I told him that I did not come to Jordan to achieve an accomplishment and then leave. I came to build a team, and I have a project. When I feel that this project is on its feet, I will come and ask you to leave." He clarified that his overarching goal has always been to establish a strong and sustainable team, rather than merely pursuing short-term results.
