Following Criticism, FIFA Launches New $60 Ticket Category for 2026 World Cup

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) faced sharp criticism due to the high prices of tickets for the 2026 World Cup. In response, FIFA has introduced a new category of lower-priced tickets, specifically designated for fans of qualified teams.

The football federation responded to the dissatisfaction expressed by fans, who voiced their anger over the elevated ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup, by launching a new ticket category priced at $60. This price will remain consistent through to the final match.

FIFA clarified that “these tickets will be reserved for fans of qualified teams, and participating member associations will be responsible for managing applications and distributing the tickets.”

FIFA added that “each association will determine its own eligibility criteria and application procedures and will be obligated to ensure these tickets are distributed to the most loyal and supportive fans of the national team.”
