Besiktas Prioritizes Soufiane El Karouani for Winter Transfer Window
Turkish club Besiktas continues to intensify its interest in Moroccan left-back Soufiane El Karouani ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window.
According to Turkish outlet "Fotomac," Besiktas' management aims to negotiate with Dutch club FC Utrecht for El Karouani's transfer. The player has yet to reach an agreement on a contract renewal with the Dutch side.
The Turkish club plans to submit an offer of €3 million. Utrecht, meanwhile, appears willing to sell him to avoid losing him for free at the end of the season, especially given interest from Spanish club Real Betis and Portuguese side Porto.
Besiktas' interest in El Karouani stems from the disappointing performances of some of their current players this season, including David Jurasek, who arrived from Benfica, and Ridvan Yilmaz, who returned from Glasgow Rangers. Coach Sergen Yalcin has emphasized the necessity of strengthening the left-back position.
The 25-year-old El Karouani has featured in 24 matches for Utrecht this season, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists.
