Bouftini: 'Opponent Provocations Don't Concern Me; Moroccan Fans Are What Matter'
Soufiane Bouftini, defender for the Moroccan national team, affirmed that the players' focus was entirely directed towards achieving victory and bringing joy to the Moroccan fans. He emphasized that attempts at provocation from any other party do not affect the squad nor personally concern him.
In press statements, Bouftini said: "Honestly, this matter doesn't concern me, and I don't pay it any attention. Whoever wants to provoke can do so. As players, what's important to us is to make our Moroccan fans happy. You cannot represent your country and wear the national emblem and then not appreciate this huge crowd that attended today in massive numbers."
He added: "According to what was said, the number reached about 72,000 spectators or more. It's impossible to enter a match like this without thinking about these fans, whether they reside here, in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, or even those who came specifically from Morocco to follow the game."
Bouftini continued: "What mattered to us today was to go in and give everything we had to achieve victory, and we succeeded in that. As for the opponent's fans and what they say, it doesn't concern me at all, because what truly matters to me is only making the Moroccan public happy."
