Uganda First to Arrive in Morocco Ahead of AFCON 2025
The Uganda national team arrived in Morocco last Sunday, becoming the first side to land in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025" finals. The tournament is scheduled to kick off on December 21 with the participation of 24 teams.
The team, nicknamed "The Cranes," chose to arrive early in the Kingdom. This move reflects the technical staff's eagerness to ensure optimal preparation conditions before the start of the competition, benefiting from a longer period to acclimatize to the climate, accommodation, and the pace of the tournament.
The official Uganda national team account on X (formerly Twitter) published a video documenting the delegation's arrival, accompanied by the caption: "Uganda Cranes arrive in Morocco ahead of AFCON 2025." This post received significant interaction from Ugandan fans who expressed their anticipation for a distinguished performance.
The Ugandan team is preparing for its eighth appearance in the continental tournament. Belgian coach Paul Put has already announced a preliminary squad of 30 players, reflecting the technical staff's desire to make a commendable showing and replicate the strong performances "The Cranes" delivered in previous editions.
