FAR Rabat Files Official Protest Over Refereeing in CAF Champions League Match Against Young Africans

22 November 2025at20:00

FAR Rabat has decided to formally contact the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to protest what it considers unfair refereeing during its 1-0 defeat to Young Africans. The match was part of the first round of the CAF Champions League group stage.

According to "Al Botola," FAR Rabat decided to submit an official protest to CAF after a "valid" goal for the team was disallowed for offside, despite television replays indicating the contrary.

Ivorian referee Modest Richard Kokora officiated the match, assisted by his compatriots Herman Derire and Aba Medard Etienne. Kouassi Frederic Francois Biro served as the fourth official.

The team's delegation is scheduled to return to Morocco tonight, specifically at 9:00 PM, arriving at Rabat-Salé Airport tomorrow morning at 7:00 AM. The team is expected to rest tomorrow, Sunday, before Abdelfattah Hadraf's teammates begin their training for the upcoming match against Egyptian club Al Ahly.
