Morocco Qualifies for U17 World Cup Quarter-Finals After 3-2 Victory Over Mali

The Moroccan national team has qualified for the quarter-finals of the U17 World Cup after securing a 3-2 victory over Mali. The thrilling Round of 16 encounter took place on Tuesday at Pitch 7 in Aspire Sports City.

The Moroccan side opened the scoring in the 29th minute when striker Ziad Baha headed home from a pass by teammate Moncef Zakaria.

Mali was awarded a penalty in the 45+6th minute after Daoudi committed a defensive foul inside the box. Boumba successfully converted the spot-kick to level the score.

The closing minutes of the first half saw a dramatic turn of events as Morocco regained the lead in the 45+11th minute. Ismail El Aoud scored their second goal, capitalizing on another excellent pass from Zakaria.

After the break, Morocco continued their strong performance, scoring their third goal in the 66th minute. El Aoud netted his second of the match, before Mali pulled one back in the 90+4th minute, making it 3-2.

Morocco now sets up a highly anticipated quarter-final clash in the U17 World Cup against Brazil. Brazil advanced after defeating France 4-3 in a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw in regular time.
