Guardiola: "The World Abandoned Palestine... It's Not Their Fault They Were Born There, And We Allowed the Extermination of an Entire People!"
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola expressed his solidarity with the Palestinian people on the sidelines of the anticipated match between the Catalonia and Palestine national teams. The game, organized by the "Act X Palestine" platform, is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, and is expected to draw approximately 25,000 spectators.
Speaking to "RAC1" radio, Guardiola stated: "This match goes beyond symbolism; thanks to it, Palestinians will see that a part of the world still thinks of them. The world has abandoned Palestine, and we have done nothing. It's not their fault they were born there. We allowed the extermination of an entire people, and what happened cannot be fixed."
He added: "I cannot imagine a single person in the world who can defend the massacres in Gaza. Our children could have been there, killed simply because they were born there. I have no faith in these leaders; they are willing to do anything to stay in power."
Guardiola continued: "Symbolism is important for awareness, but it is not enough; we need real action. It is true that a football match is just a symbol, but the most important thing is for Palestinians to feel, for a moment, that we are with them, and that the stadium gives them some joy."
