Portugal Coach: "Ronaldo Was Pushed for 60 Minutes and Was Very Frustrated by the Harsh Sending Off"

Portugal coach Roberto Martinez believes Cristiano Ronaldo's red card in his team's 2-0 defeat to Ireland in a World Cup qualifier was harsh.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Martinez said: "I think the red card Cristiano Ronaldo received was a bit harsh."

He added: "Cristiano was pushed for 60 minutes. I don't think what he did was an elbow, but we accept the decision. He cares a lot about the national team and was frustrated."

The Portugal coach concluded: "Cristiano has given us victory in many matches, and we have to ensure we win Sunday's game without him."
