Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), expressed his delight at being in Morocco, commending the Kingdom's recent football achievements and its capability to host global sporting events.

Infantino stated in a declaration to the official website of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation: "I congratulate Morocco on the magnificent U20 World Cup title in Chile a few days ago. Indeed, this is a new and well-deserved title after a beautiful final against Argentina, and it is proof of the passion and progress this beautiful country is achieving."

He added: "It is a great pleasure to be back here in Rabat, in Morocco, where we feel at home. We breathe and live football every day. The success achieved by the Moroccan national team in the last World Cup, by qualifying for the semi-finals, is not a coincidence, but rather the result of exceptional work at both men's and women's levels."

The FIFA President continued: "Morocco is currently organizing the U17 Women's World Cup, which once again reflects its competence as a high-level host nation. Twenty-four teams from all over the world are participating in this tournament, and four teams from four different continents have qualified for the semi-finals. This is the first edition of the Women's World Cup to be organized in Africa, and it is the first of five consecutive editions that will be held in the Kingdom."

Infantino concluded his statement by saying: "I would like to thank President Fouzi Lekjaa, and of course King Mohammed VI, for the continuous drive and support for football in Morocco, which has contributed to achieving these accomplishments and organizing wonderful global football events."
