Jawad El Yamiq Sent Off in First Game Back from Injury, Hours After Regragui Call-Up
Moroccan international defender Jawad El Yamiq's return to action was far from ideal, as he received a red card during his team Al-Najma's match against Al-Hilal in the eighth round of the Saudi Roshan League. The game concluded with Al-Hilal securing a 4-2 victory.
El Yamiq had been sidelined for a month due to injury before making his starting comeback in Friday's fixture. However, his harsh challenge in the 76th minute led to a direct red card, occurring when the score was level at 2-2.
Al-Hilal capitalized on Al-Najma's numerical disadvantage, scoring two consecutive goals to secure the win. Al-Najma, meanwhile, continued their poor form, suffering their eighth consecutive defeat and remaining at the bottom of the league table without any points.
El Yamiq's dismissal occurred just hours after national team coach Walid Regragui announced his call-up to the squad for upcoming friendly matches against Uganda and Mozambique.
