Portugal U17 Coach: 'Morocco Match Decisive, We Must Exploit Their Pressure'
Portugal U17 national team coach, Bino Maçães, affirmed that the upcoming confrontation against the Moroccan national team will be decisive and challenging. He indicated that his team would try to capitalize on the pressure on their opponents to achieve a positive result in the second round of the U17 World Cup currently being held in Qatar.
In statements reported by the official website of the Portuguese Football Federation, the coach said: "We realize the match will be difficult, but it is decisive for Morocco, because a loss against us could weaken their chances of reaching the next round, and we must play on this psychological aspect."
The Portuguese team had started their tournament campaign strongly, securing a 6-1 victory over New Caledonia, while the Moroccan team lost their first match against Japan by two goals to nil.
The Portuguese coach concluded his remarks by stating: "We trust in the abilities of our players and their ambitious spirit. The tournament is still in its early stages, and our goal is to deliver a balanced collective performance and advance further in the competition."
The match between the Moroccan and Portuguese national teams is scheduled for today, Thursday, kicking off at 15:30 (local time) / 13:30 (Morocco time), as part of the second round of Group B in the U17 World Cup held in Qatar.
The Moroccan national team needs to achieve a positive result against Portugal to keep their hopes of qualifying for the second round of the tournament alive.
