Bassir: "Self-Confidence and High Concentration are Key to Achieving a Positive Result Against Brazil"
Former Moroccan international Salaheddine Bassir affirmed that the national team possesses significant technical and human capabilities that enable them to face a strong challenge against the Brazilian national team in the 2026 World Cup finals.
Bassir told the Maghreb Arab Press agency: "The Brazilian national team remains one of the biggest teams in the world, featuring top-class players. However, they are also undergoing a transitional phase with gradual squad renewal. Self-confidence and high focus will be the key to achieving a positive result."
He added: "The current Brazilian team differs significantly from the one Morocco faced in the 1998 World Cup in terms of player experience and maturity. However, this does not diminish their technical value; rather, it requires the Moroccan team to approach the match with high concentration and great tactical discipline."
He continued: "The Moroccan national team has a cohesive and ambitious group capable of honoring national football. Players must continue to show the confidence and competitive spirit that has enabled Morocco to solidify its position among the world's top teams in recent years."
He concluded: "The levels between major teams have become closer. The Moroccan national team currently ranks seventh globally in the FIFA rankings, just behind Brazil, who are sixth. This reflects the standing Moroccan football has achieved on the international stage."
It is worth noting that the match between Brazil and Morocco will take place this coming Saturday, starting at 23:00 (GMT +1).
