Swiss National Team Concerned Over "Venomous Snakes" Near San Diego Camp Ahead of World Cup
Media reports indicate that San Diego, California, which is hosting training camps for both the New Zealand and Swiss national teams, is experiencing concern due to the presence of venomous snakes in the vicinity of the Swiss players' accommodation.
A beIN Sports correspondent clarified that the Swiss Football Association (SFA) had issued a statement indicating the potential presence of dangerous snakes near the team's lodging area, which was considered a possible threat to the safety of players and technical staff members.
The source noted that the forested nature of the area and its rich natural environment, teeming with wildlife such as rabbits, squirrels, birds, and insects, make the presence of some animals natural. However, reports of venomous snakes near the team's accommodation have raised concerns within the SFA.
The source added that in recent hours, the Swiss Football Association has been exploring alternative options, either by moving to a safer accommodation or finding solutions to secure the current camp, despite the difficulty of changing pre-approved locations months before the start of the World Cup tournament.
