Real Madrid Presidential Candidate Riquelme: "Rodri Would Play for Us If I Were President"

Enrique Riquelme, a candidate for the Real Madrid presidency, revealed the name of one of the players he aims to sign in the summer transfer window, should he win the upcoming elections.

Speaking to Spanish radio station Cadena Cope, Riquelme said: "Rodri is a great player. If I were president of Real Madrid, a player like Rodri would play for our team."

The challenger to Florentino Perez for the Real Madrid presidency had previously stated that he had reached agreements with two major players to bring them to the Royal Club if he won the position in the elections scheduled for June 7.

Riquelme had earlier told the newspaper ABC: "I have an agreement that states if I assume the presidency, I will bring two prominent world stars to Real Madrid. Two essential stars for the short, medium, and long-term sporting project."
