Shadi Riad: 'Coach Gave Me My Chance in Conference League Final, We Won the Title'
Moroccan international Shadi Riad expressed his immense happiness at contributing to Crystal Palace's triumph in the European Conference League title, following their one-nil victory over Spanish side Rayo Vallecano in the final match.
Speaking to beIN Sports, Shadi Riad stated: "I knew I would participate in the final after the Arsenal match, as the coach spoke with me and confirmed that I had played a great game, especially since one of my teammates was suffering from an ankle injury and was not ready."
He added: "Thank God I was given the opportunity to play in the final, and we succeeded in winning the title, which makes me very happy."
The Moroccan defender also spoke about his compatriot Elias Akhomach, emphasizing the strong bond they have shared since childhood. He said: "Akhomach has been my friend since we were young, and both of us recently returned from anterior cruciate ligament injuries. I wish him all the best in his football career and I'm happy to see him."
It is worth noting that Shadi Riad is included in the Moroccan national team squad participating in the World Cup finals, a move that reflects the confidence placed in him by the national technical staff.
