Sundowns' Coetzee: "FAR Rabat Match Wasn't That Difficult, But We Know Their Fans Will Be Behind Them in the Second Leg"
Mamelodi Sundowns' South African player, Keanu Coetzee, believes that the first leg of the CAF Champions League final against AS FAR was not as difficult as it seemed, emphasizing the need for solidarity among all team members to achieve a good result in Rabat.
Coetzee stated in media remarks: "The match wasn't that difficult. I think we generally made things harder for ourselves. We had good chances to seal the game, but in the end, we secured a 1-0 victory, and keeping a clean sheet was the most important thing for us."
He added: "We know that AS FAR is a very good team, and when their fans are behind them in a packed stadium, we know the match will be difficult for us. But if we remain united as one team, it will be easier, even though we know it will be hard work."
Coetzee continued: "They are good at playing through crosses and set-pieces. As a team, we knew their strengths and worked on them in training, and we didn't give them space. However, we know that when we play away from home, it will be a different match. Things will be tougher there (in Morocco), but if we stay united, it will be easier."
The second leg of the CAF Champions League final will take place next Sunday, kicking off at 8:00 PM (GMT+1), at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
