King's Cup: Kénitra AC to Host Ittihad Tanger in Tangier After Rabat Venue Denial
Kénitra Athletic Club (KAC) will be forced to host its guest, Ittihad Tanger, in Tangier for their Moroccan Throne Cup Round of 32 match, scheduled for this Sunday. This relocation is due to the unavailability of a qualified stadium in Kénitra to host the encounter.
KAC clarified in an official statement that the decision to play the match in Tangier came after exploring various available options. This was necessitated by the inability to secure authorization to use stadiums in Rabat, despite the club's correspondence with the relevant authorities since May 7th.
The Kénitra team also noted that the Khémisset stadium could not be utilized due to one of its stands not being ready to accommodate spectators. Ultimately, Grand Stade de Tanger was chosen as the venue, being the only available stadium with natural grass between Kénitra and Tangier.
Although KAC will be the official host of the encounter, they will be deprived of their fans' support due to the decision to ban inter-city fan travel. This means the match will take place in a unique atmosphere for KAC, as they will play away from their usual home crowd.
