Raja Members Condemn Referee Decisions in FAR Rabat Match, Demand Urgent Investigation
Raja Club Athletic members have issued a statement addressed to the sports public, following their team's match against AS FAR, expressing their dissatisfaction with a series of refereeing and organizational decisions that accompanied the encounter.
The members conveyed their “deep dissatisfaction with the unfair refereeing decisions that directly impacted the course of the match,” pointing to what they described as “double standards in applying the law and the absence of the principle of equal opportunities between the two teams.”
The statement also registered “grave concern regarding the manner in which Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology was managed, especially in crucial moments,” considering some decisions “lacked accuracy and clarity,” which, according to them, raises questions about the credibility of using this technology in the national league.
Raja members further criticized the “organizational shortcomings that accompanied the match,” expressing solidarity with the team's fans, especially those who faced arrests, and demanding fairness and consideration for the spirit of justice in their regard.
Conversely, the statement extended a tribute of appreciation to the security forces, commending their efforts to maintain order and ensure the safety of fans inside the stadium.
The members called on the National Professional Football League to launch a “serious and urgent” investigation into what they described as transgressions, and demanded the publication of VAR room audio recordings, to uphold the principle of transparency and link responsibility with accountability.
The statement concluded by affirming the members' adherence to the values of integrity and sporting justice, emphasizing their commitment to continue defending the interests of the club and its fans “through all available legal and institutional means,” within the framework of respecting institutions and sportsmanship.
