"Winners" Send "Fiery" Message to Ait Mena: "You Sow Discord Among Players, Fans Not Spared Your Malice"
The "Winners 2005" ultras group, supporters of Wydad Athletic Club, issued a lengthy statement following the team's goalless draw against Kawkab Marrakech in Matchday 16 of the Botola Pro league. The statement addressed several points related to the match and the club's environment.
The group began its statement by referencing a message displayed by fans at the start of the match, which emphasized the need to fight for victories and titles. They asserted that the current phase does not tolerate complacency or laxity, especially with the start of the return leg of the season. The statement urged players to show determination and take full responsibility in defending the team's chances in the competition.
"Winners" criticized the current situation within the club, evoking what they described as the spirit of "past glories." They then directed direct criticism at club president Hicham Ait Mena, accusing him of mismanaging the current period and contributing to an atmosphere of tension and division among the team's components, including players, members, and fans.
The statement continued: "Hicham Ait Mena, you are here to serve the club, not to make it operate according to your whims and personal interests. You are here to create and maintain a healthy environment so that the club's wheels, across all its branches, can turn without hindrance or obstruction."
They added: "You are here to unite the ranks around a single goal, but all you excel at is sowing discord and division among the team's players and between its members. The fans, too, have not been spared your malice."
The group further stated: "Your method of selecting coaches is also a subject of question marks. Are the most suitable candidates hired to achieve positive results, or does one subservient individual seek another like him who accepts invading the locker room at halftime for a purpose known only to God, the president, and the agents who strip official status from one to grant it to another?"
They continued: "We are fed up with these irresponsible actions, whose only victim is the interest of our club. The patience of Wydad's fans has been pushed beyond its limits. We may call on everyone to unite in support of the club during its critical periods, which are marked by excessive targeting, but this will never mean our acceptance of how Wydad's affairs are being managed."
The group concluded by stating: "Wydad's members are urged to awaken, as the institution of the member remains one with significant powers and responsibilities within the club. It is regrettable to see this institution mired in divisions that prioritize narrow calculations over the interests of the historic edifice that unites us and whose affiliation compels us to defend it, each according to their position."
