Baroudi and Hamdi to Represent Moroccan Officiating at U17 Africa Cup of Nations
The Referees Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has selected two Moroccan referees to officiate matches at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, which Morocco will host from May 13 to June 2, 2026.
The list is headed by center referee Mohamed Baroudi, one of the rising names in continental officiating, alongside assistant referee Sakina Hamdi, who continues to excel among the list of assistant referees.
In terms of the competition, the Moroccan national team will participate as the host nation and defending champions. They will kick off their campaign with a strong match against Tunisia at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium, in a group that also includes Egypt and Ethiopia.
This edition holds special significance as it serves as a qualifier for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, with Africa allocated 10 berths. This promises intense competition at the Mohammed VI Football Academy stadiums and Moulay El Hassan Stadium, as the young Lions strive to retain their continental title.
