Barcelona Seeks Alternative Venue for La Liga Title Celebrations Amid Renovation Works

FC Barcelona is facing an impediment to holding its traditional La Liga title celebrations at the usual Canaletas Fountain. Ongoing renovation works in the La Rambla area are imposing technical restrictions on fan access and gathering, prompting the Catalan club's management to coordinate extensively with the Barcelona City Council. The aim is to find an alternative location that allows fans to gather and celebrate, as the team approaches officially securing the title in the coming weeks.

David Escudé, Sports Councillor for the Barcelona City Council, confirmed that security agencies will have the final say in selecting the new venue to ensure the safety of all attendees. Escudé explained in his statements regarding the potential celebration arrangements that the Urban Guard forces are currently studying the security file. He stated, "The Urban Guard forces are working on the security issue, and it will be necessary to speak clearly with the club to find an alternative. For your information, the final word will be with the security agencies." These ongoing consultations aim to find a space that can accommodate the large expected numbers of fans without affecting the progress of ongoing urban renovation works in the main streets.

The team, led by coach Hans Flick, is nearing confirmation of its dominance in La Liga, currently topping the standings by a 9-point margin over second-placed Real Madrid with only seven rounds remaining in the domestic competition.
