German club Bayern Munich has announced that player Serge Gnabry has sustained a tear in his right adductor muscle, which will keep him out of action for an indefinite period. The Bavarian club confirmed on Saturday that medical examinations undergone by the international player revealed the severity of the injury, which will require a lengthy absence from official competitions in the upcoming phase.
Gnabry is expected to miss both UEFA Champions League semi-final matches against French side Paris Saint-Germain, a significant blow to the German team's ambitions of reaching the final. Furthermore, this injury raises serious concerns about the German winger's potential participation in the upcoming World Cup finals, given the prolonged recovery period that such a severe muscle tear may require.
This injury comes at a critical point in the season, after the 30-year-old player had delivered outstanding performances, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists across all competitions during the 2025-2026 season. As a result of this diagnosis, the club will be without their player for the first leg at Parc des Princes on April 28 and the return leg at the Allianz Arena scheduled for May 6.
