Real Madrid Announces Charity Legends Match Against Inter Milan at Bernabéu
Real Madrid has announced details for the new edition of the Corazón Classic Match charity game, which will take place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on June 13. This highly anticipated encounter will feature legends from the Spanish club facing their counterparts from Italian side Inter Milan. All proceeds from the match will be dedicated to funding social and charitable projects carried out by the Real Madrid Foundation worldwide.
The event's presentation ceremony was attended by Florentino Pérez, President of Real Madrid, alongside Giuseppe Marotta, President of Inter Milan, in a celebration that highlighted the strong ties between the two institutions. Pérez thanked the Italian team, stating, “I would like to thank Inter Milan for participating in this solidarity event, which embodies the values that unite football and sport. We are grateful that they are the first club to participate in this initiative for a second time.”
For his part, Giuseppe Marotta emphasized the humanitarian commitment of major clubs, explaining that helping children facing risks of social exclusion and difficult living conditions is a “social responsibility and a true victory for sport.” A group of iconic figures from both teams participated in the match presentation, led by Roberto Carlos, Marcelo, and Santillana for Madrid, in addition to Javier Zanetti, Toldo, and Esteban Cambiasso representing the Italian club.
In the same vein, the encounter is linked to a rich history between the two clubs, who have met in 19 official matches since 1960. Several prominent names have also worn the jerseys of both teams, such as Cambiasso and Santiago Solari. This match will also revive historical memories for Inter Milan in the Spanish capital, especially given that the Italian club previously lifted the Champions League trophy at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in May.
