Champions League/ AS FAR Puts One Foot in Final After 2-0 Victory Over RS Berkane
AS FAR secured a 2-0 victory over their visitors RS Berkane in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-final, held today, Saturday, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
From the outset, both teams exchanged attempts, but the attacking efforts lacked real threat amidst a moderate pace of play.
As the minutes progressed, AS FAR sought to leverage their home advantage and the support of their fans, creating more chances and coming closer to breaking the deadlock.
Following the half-time interval, the military club maintained their attacking pressure in pursuit of the opening goal, which eventually came in the 58th minute courtesy of Ahmed Hamoudan.
In the 80th minute, AS FAR surprised their guests with a second goal, a well-placed shot from Khalid Ait Ourkhani that found the back of Anas Zniti's net. The match concluded with a decisive victory for Alexandre Santos's squad.
RS Berkane will host AS FAR in the return leg next Saturday at the Municipal Stadium in Berkane, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 PM (GMT+1).
