CAF Disciplinary Committee Suspends Darak for Three Months Starting April 9 Over Doping
AS FAR Rabat announced in an official statement the suspension of its player Zineddine El Derrak for three months, following an abnormal analytical finding during routine anti-doping control.
The club clarified that the decision was based on information received from the African Anti-Doping Committee, which notified them of the analytical result after one of the continental competition matches. Subsequently, the CAF Disciplinary Committee issued its decision on April 8, 2026, to suspend the player for three months, effective from April 9.
AS FAR Rabat affirmed that the player fully cooperated with the competent authorities and respected all applicable procedures, noting that the incident stemmed from his consumption of a product without his knowledge that it contained prohibited substances.
The club emphasized that this incident remains isolated and does not reflect El Derrak's professional career, as he has been known for discipline and commitment throughout his sporting journey. They highlighted that he had previously undergone several anti-doping tests, both in the national league and African competitions, without any violations recorded against him.
In conclusion of its statement, AS FAR Rabat reiterated its strict commitment to anti-doping laws and regulations and its dedication to upholding the values of integrity and professionalism within the team, indicating that it will take all necessary measures in accordance with current laws.
