Wydad's 'Winners' Ultras Group to Ait Menna: 'Enough Talk, Enough Photos, You Are Here to Serve the Club'
The "Winners" ultras group, supporters of Wydad Athletic Club, issued a statement following the team's match against Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi, a postponed fixture from the eleventh round of the 2025/26 National Championship, which ended in a one-all draw at the Mohammed V Complex.
The group's statement read: “Wydad's glory is only through its men, for they are the ones who embody the value of the jersey and the emblem. They are the ones who share the fans' concerns and disappointments the most, and they are the most eager to bring joy to the club's loyal supporters.”
In the same context, they added: “And because the current team composition lacks or is devoid of Wydad's own sons, it was imperative for us to remind everyone that this emblem is not merely a piece of cloth to be worn, but a heavy legacy inherited only by those who consistently prove themselves worthy. It is a legacy forged through years of sacrifice, with sweat that flowed, tears that fell, blood that was shed, bodies that were imprisoned, and souls that ascended to their Lord, the latest being the soul of our brother, the late Zouhair El Taji, who passed away following a traffic accident while on his way to the stadium for a previous match.”
The statement continued: “Belonging to this club means guarding a glorious history that tolerates no negligence from anyone and welcomes no one who belittles it. What we see today is negligence in a place where only serious work is acceptable, and a disregard for what we value most from those who are expected to fight for it and defend it.”
In this regard, they added: “Oh, you who wear the club's jersey or hold important positions within its corridors, what you are offering today does not live up to what the circumstances of a club the size of Wydad demand. Either you are worthy of the trust placed in your hands, or you leave it to those capable of continuing to write its glories.”
The statement went on to say: “In your management, logic is absent; you pursue money and forget titles,” emphasizing that a manager's success depends on their alignment with the club's philosophy and the mentality of its fans, not solely on financial transactions.
The "Winners" also clarified: “A manager's success is contingent on how much their thinking aligns with the club's philosophy and the degree to which their mentality matches that of its supporters. As for the current Wydad president, it is clear that he has not yet grasped that Wydad is a benchmark club and should not be treated like other teams.”
The group continued: “Wydad, as inscribed in its three-word emblem, is a sports club, not a company or an enterprise, for its president's biggest concern to be numbers, financial transactions, and material profit. It is shameful to consider titles a secondary matter while constantly discussing debts, budgets, and revenues.”
In the same vein, they stressed: “What the president must understand is that leading Wydad requires foresight and anticipating crises, not waiting for them to escalate, as happened last season when the decision to dismiss the coach was delayed.”
They also added: “We, the Wydadis, support our team not to keep it from failure, but to achieve success and victory, as there is no place for failure and defeat in our lexicon.”
They further stated: “We will address you in popular dialect in response to your populist language, expressing what is on the mind of every passionate Wydadi. Enough talk, enough photos, you are here to serve the club, and the position of Wydad president cannot become a means to promote its holder's name.”
In this context, the group emphasized: “The president is the one who bears the pressure and removes it from the team's shoulders, not one who creates tension. He is the one who plans before any step, not one who speaks without thinking.”
The group concluded its message by stressing the importance of rallying around the team in the upcoming phase, as Wydad faces Maghreb de Fès. They called for attendance and support to end the first half of the season at the top of the standings, while emphasizing the necessity of unity within the stands and rejecting any disruptive behavior.
